Pastoria Power Plant

Pastoria Power Plant, www.calpine.com

The 750-megawatt Pastoria Energy Facility, built by the Tejon Ranch Company at the base of the San Joaquin Valley’s Tehachapi Mountains, has been in operation since mid-2005. A proposed $70-million expansion would add one simple-cycle, natural gas-fired combustion turbine generator to the original three-unit combined-cycle facility. This 160-megawatt expansion bid was slated to come before the California Energy Commission in fall of 2006.
